Two and a half couriers teams were in action at Sundays SVTTA Boomerang Trophy 2 -up at Stirling.

Hot on the comback trail was fast vet Albert McLellan who rode his first open event in over 10 years to lead his  team-mate  Geoff Smith home in 53:58.

The pairing of  Lewis Duff partnered by Hyland Hamilton  punctured with 5 miles to go but still managed to limp home to record a highly respectable 55:18.

Jim Cusisk had hoped to defend the Boomerang Trophy which he won last year by drafted in Shug Jamieson in Davie Millars absence. Unfortunately an infection picked up on holiday meant Jim couldnt start and his place was taken by Lynsey Curran.  Lynsey and Shug roared round in 53:20.

Jim Cusick led the Couriers border raid to take 3rd place on GC and 1st Vet in the Border City Wheelers Hadrians Wall Stage Race. Jim  stamped his authority all over the time trial taking almost 30 seconds out of second place Matt Dunsbier -VC Bristol and took 4th overall in  the stage 4 road stage .  Richie Provan turned in an impressive TT staying within a minute of all the main contenders and finished an impressive 19th overall on GC . John Fox finished strongly on each stage and rode particulary well in the stage 3 hillclimb.

Jim Cusick was fourth in Sundays Meldons Hilly TT which incorporated the Olympic TT Scottish National Championship .  Jim was disappointed to finish just outside the medals but was pleased with his form on the day and was delighted for his big buddy Thommo who took the win over team-mate Silas Goldsworthy.  Dooleys RT's Arthur Doyle took Bronze. In the ladies event Lynsey Curran was also happy with her form but unfortunately suffered a front wheel puncture and came off sustaining some cuts and bruises.

Stuart Paterson completed the 3 day Youth Tour of Scotland in good shape finishing 49th on GC. Conditions were hard and cold for the race which took place round Perthshire.

When asked for his overall impressions of the event Stuart was very complentary of both the racing and the organisation

"Brilliant races! Really fun! And phenomenal results!"

Well done Stuart!!

The Road Team  were in action in the Gifford Road Races this weekend. After holding good position throughout in the B race , Lewis Duff was dismayed to be blocked out in the lead up to the sprint  in what could best be described as a 'chaotic' finish.  Richie Provan had a great ride in the A race and was pleased with his improving form amongst the big boys. Neil McKie pulled up from the B race with a resurgance of his recent knee injury.  Lets hope that sorts itself out soon!

The paparazzi were out in force at the Gergetown this morning as rumours circulated of a return to  action by former club Sponsor Don Bennett.

Don didnt disappoint and showed that he still has what it takes by popping out a very respectable 20 minute opener.  Nicely done Sir!

The club 'hard riders' section were not detered by a bit of snow or icy rain as they popped out a 107 mile ride round Hells Glen on Sunday.

Approaching Strachur in high spirits.
